You will find out how much it really costs to live for one month. Research the cost of:
1. Housing (own or rent)
2. Gas/Electric
3. Phone (cell)
4. Approximate cost of food for the month (assume 4 people in the house, go shopping with your family)
5. Transportation (own a car, payment for car, gas costs, insurance)
6. Dining out budget (how much does it cost in the restaurant)
7. Insurance (home, health, car)
8. College Loans (or not)
9. Entertainment costs (movies, video games, etc.)
10. Gym membership?
11. Anything else????
Now research a career. Find out the path needed to be in this career (college, trade school, etc.) Remember to figure these costs in to your budget! How much will you make each month? Now take out ¼ for taxes. (The career must be attainable, professional athlete is not a possibility)

Unit Question for Unit 2: Due November 8
The store Tuesday Morning sells new products each week at a discount. Create a store. You must show the goods that the store sells, look to find the cost to make those goods, and how much you would sell the goods for. You will have to survey people in the school (or just in the class) if they will buy the goods, and how much they would spend on what you are selling. Next you must show how you would put these goods on sale, and you must have at least one sale a month. Your store must show a profit, and you must show how you will make that profit. You can use the store that you began with Ms. Knowles in Social Studies.
